Jin Hyun Kim (Dr.) ist Assistenzprofessorin für Systematische Musikwissenschaft an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Sie promovierte mit einer deutschen Doktorarbeit Embodiment in interaktiven Musik- und Medienperformances – unter besonderer Berücksichtigung medientheoretischer und kognitionswissenschaftlicher Perspektiven. Derzeit ist sie Sprecherin der Studiengruppe Key Themes in Basic Music Research: Interdisziplinäre Musikforschung und Philosophie der Musik heute, finanziert durch das HWK, Visiting Research Associate am Wolfson College Cambridge und Affiliated Researcher am Centre for Music and Science der University of Cambridge. Jin Hyun Kim, PhD, is an assistant professor of Systematic Musicology at the Humboldt University of Berlin. She accomplished her PhD with a German doctoral thesis Embodiment in interactive music and media performances: Taking perspectives from media theory and cognitive science into account. Currently, she is Speaker of the study group Key Themes in Basic Music Research: Interdisciplinary Music Research and Philosophy of Music Today funded by the HWK, Visiting Research Associate at the Wolfson College Cambridge and Affiliated Researcher at the Centre for Music and Science of the University of Cambridge.
Katarina Kleinschmidt (Dr.) arbeitet zurzeit im Forschungsprojekt transform – Transformative Bildungsprozesse in performativen Projekten an der Universität Potsdam. 2016-17 Vertretungsprofessur für Tanzwissenschaft am Zentrum für Zeitgenössischen Tanz Köln mit Schwerpunkten in künstlerischer Forschung, Praxeologie, Dramaturgie und Tanzanalyse. 2010-2016 wissenschaftliche Mitarbeit und Dissertation im Fach Tanzwissenschaft an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, für Dissertation und Nachfolgeprojekt zu Feedbackpraktiken erhielt sie 2016 den Tanzwissenschaftspreis NRW. Sie studierte Zeitgenössischen und Klassischen Tanz an der Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt/Main sowie Tanzwissenschaft an der Freien Universität Berlin. Ab 2003 arbeitete sie als Tänzerin und Dramaturgin u.a. mit José Biondi, Ensemble 9. November, Martin Nachbar, Sebastian Matthias, Antje Velsinger. 2018 erschien ihre Dissertation Artistic Research als Wissensgefüge. Eine Praxeologie des Probens im zeitgenössischen Tanz (2018). Katarina Kleinschmidt (Dr.) is currently working for the University of Potsdam in the context of kulturelle Bildung [cultural education] (research project transform, Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung). 2016-17 deputy professor and 2010-2016 research assistant at the Center for Contemporary Dance Cologne, in topics such as artistic research, praxeology, dramaturgy and dance analysis. She received a Diploma in Contemporary and Classical dance at University for Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt (Main), a master degree in dance studies at Free University in Berlin and a PhD in dance studies for which she won the award of German Dance Studies 2016. As dancer and dramaturge she worked with José Biondi, Ensemble 9. November, Martin Nachbar, Sebastian Matthias, Antje Velsinger amongst others. Recently published: Artistic Research als Wissensgefüge. Eine Praxeologie des Probens im zeitgenössischen Tanz (2018).
Brandon LaBelle beschäftigt sich als Künstler, Autor und Theoretiker mit akustischen, kulturellen und gesellschaftlichen Räumen und Territorien. Dabei verwendet er Klang, Performance, Text und von ihm konstruierte ortsbezogene Kontexte. Er entwickelt und präsentiert seine künstlerischen Projekte und Performances in internationalen Zusammenhängen, oftmals in Kollaborationen und im öffentlichen Raum. Zu seinen Arbeiten zählen The Floating Citizen, Tenerife Espacio de las Artes (2018), The Ungovernable, Documenta 14, Athen (2017), Oficina de Autonomia, Ybakatu, Curitiba (2017), The Hobo Subject, Gallery Forum, Zagreb (2016) und The Living School, South London Gallery (2016). Er ist Autor von Sound and Emergent Forms of Resistance (2018), Lexicon of the Mouth: Poetics and Politics of Voice and the Oral Imaginary (2014), Diary of an Imaginary Egyptian (2012), Acoustic Territories: Sound Culture and Everyday Life (2010) und Background Noise: Perspectives on Sound Art (2015; 2006). Marcello Lussana verbindet seit Jahren seine Interessen an Musik, Philosophie und Technologie. Hauptinteresse seiner Arbeit ist die Interaktion zwischen Musik und menschlicher Bewegung, in der Körper und Computer durch eine komplexe Vorstellung von Körperwahrnehmung und den dafür ausgelegten Schnittstellen verbunden sind. Nach seinem Studium an der Universität für Fremdsprachen in Bergamo schloss er 2006 den Master in Technologie und Kommunikation in Turin ab. In 2010 kombinierte er sein Interesse für Humanismus, Technologie und Musik während des Masterstudiums Sound Studies an der UdK in Berlin. Im Jahr 2012 begann er als musikalischer Leiter mit dem Motioncomposer project1 zusammenzuarbeiten – http://www.motioncomposer.com – und engagierte sich für das europäische Projekt Metabody2 – http://www.metabody.eu. Seit 2008 lebt er in Berlin und komponiert Computermusik für audio-visuelle Performances, Tanz, Theater und Live-Elektronik. Im Juli 2016 wurde er Doktorand an der Humboldt Universität zu Berlin zum Thema Interaktive Musik und Bewusstsein, betreut von Professorin Jin-Hyun Kim (HU) und Professor Alberto de Campo (UdK). Marcello Lussana combines since years his interest in music, philosophy and technology. Focal point of his work is the interaction between music and human movement, where body and computer are connected through a complex understanding of body perception and dedicated interfaces. After completing his study at the university of Foreign Languages in Bergamo in 2006, he completed the Master in Technology and Communication in Torino; in 2010 he merged this humanist, technological and music interest, attending the Master Sound Studies at the University of Arts in Berlin (UdK). In 2012 he started working together with the Motioncomposer project1 as musical director — www.motioncomposer.com— and got involved in the european project Metabody2 — www.metabody.eu. Since 2008 he lives in Berlin and produces computer music for audio-visual performances, dance, theater and live electronics. In July 2016 he became a PhD candidate at the Humboldt University in Berlin on the subject of interactive music and consciousness with the professors Jin Hyun Kim (HU) and Alberto de Campo (UdK).
Mathias Maschat ist Musikwissenschaftler, Konzertorganisator, Musiker und Klavierlehrer in Berlin. Er studierte Kulturwissenschaften und ästhetische Praxis mit Hauptfach Musik in Hildesheim. 2010-2013 war er mit dem Promotionsprojekt Improvisationsästhetik im Kontext musikalischer Avantgarde Stipendiat im Strukturierten Promotionsprogramm Erinnerung – Wahrnehmung – Bedeutung. Musikwissenschaft als Geisteswissenschaft an der Universität Osnabrück. 2009 war er verantwortlich für Kommunikation und PR bei ohrenstrand.net. Als wissenschaftlicher Volontär arbeitete er 2007/08 im Musikreferat des Niedersächsischen Ministeriums für Wissenschaft und Kultur. 2004-2009 war er in Hannover als Musikredakteur für Taktlos – Magazin für Klassik und Experimentelles bei Radio Flora tätig. Er ist Kurator der 2016 im Rahmen des APPLAUS-Preises der Initiative Musik als „Veranstaltungsreihe des Jahres“ ausgezeichneten Reihe biegungen im ausland und Mitarbeiter des exploratorium berlin.

 

Mathias Maschat is musicologist, concert organizer, musician and piano teacher in Berlin. He studied cultural studies and aesthetic practices in Hildesheim, with the major in music. 2010-2013 he was a fellow at the PhD program Remembrance-Perception-Meaning—Musicology as Part of the Humanities (University Osnabrück) with his PhD project Aesthetics of Improvisation in the Context of Musical Avantgarde. He was responsible for communication and PR at ohrenstrand.net. 2007/08 he worked as a research voluntary with the musical advisor for the ministry for science and culture in Lower Saxony. 2004-2009 he was a music editor for Taktlos—Magazin für Klassik und Experimentelles with Radio Flora. He is curator of the series biegungen im ausland—awarded 2016 by Initiative Musik with the APPLAUS prize as ‘series of events of the year’—and associate of the exploratorium berlin.
Stephanie Schroedter arbeitet an der Schnittstelle von Musik- und Tanzwissenschaft. Mit ihrer Monographie Paris qui danse. Bewegungs- und Klangräume einer Großstadt der Moderne habilitierte sie sich an der FU Berlin (2015; verlegt bei Königshausen & Neumann, Würzburg 2018). Derzeit arbeitet sie an einem Projekt zu Interaktionen und Relationen zwischen Musik/Klang und Bewegung in der zeitgenössischen Musik-/Theater und Tanzszene (gefördert von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG). Stephanie Schroedter combines musicology with dance studies. She finished her second monography Paris qui danse. Spaces for Movement and Sound in a Modern City at the Freie Universität Berlin in 2015 (Habilitation; published by Königshausen & Neumann, Würzburg 2018). Currently she is working on a new project focussed on interrelations between music/sound and movement in contemporary music, theatre and dance performances, which is subsidized by the German Academic National Foundation (DFG).
