(Burkhard Beins, Anat Cohavi, Kai Fagaschinski, Robin Hayward, Andrea Neumann, Ignaz Schick, and Mario de Vega). Special guest: Mathias Maschat
A lecture/ritual/guided tour through the history of the Berlin improvisation scene.
Musicologist Mathias Maschat was giving a condensed chronological overview from 1963 until 2013. Splittergruppe II was divided into two bands for the evening, playing a composition simultaneously with the lecture, as a counterpoint to the text. Torvund used recordings of animal voices from Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and other recordings and explored together with the musicians the principle of imitation.

[Improvisation Museum was produced by ausland, Berliner Künstlerprogramm des DAAD, Berliner Festspiele / MaerzMusik and Borealis Festival Bergen, in collaboration with Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, supported by Norwegian Composers Fund.]
